Here's our nightly scene, (maybe it sounds familiar!):
*5 yr-old makes barfing sounds while asking, "What is that? I HATE ______!
*3 yr-old can't sit for more than 3 seconds at the table and dissects everything
*mom wants to poke her eyes out with a sharp pencil b/c it feels like Groundhog's Day
*daddy is simply glad to be home, but unsure about all the estrogen(AKA drama)
Something HAD to change, and then I tripped across the "Beginner Dinner Games for ages 3-6." It's a collection of 51 fun & easy games and so far it's been a total hit!! Here's a sample game card:
What's in the Oven Mitt?
One person begins by hiding a "secret" object in an oven mitt. Pass the mitt around the table and let everyone feel the object.
NO PEEKING!
Everyone guesses what's in the mitt, and whoever guesses correctly leads the next round!
Although the menu hasn't been altered, our attitudes have improved! Laughter keeps erupting and we actually want to be together to enjoy some food & anticipate what the next game will be!!
Anyone for dinner at our place?? :)

That sounds WONDERFUL! Where did you find this gem? And do they make it for 6-10 year olds??? :)
Punky Doodle Bugs, and yes, I think they make an older edition, too! :)
Are you sure you weren't sitting at my table??? Sounds like it's worth a try!
